Housing Coordinator (Project Management)

Purpose:
The Housing Coordinator initiates and sustains relationships with private market landlords to secure safe, affordable, and stable housing opportunities for individuals and families served by the YWCA Housing Program. This role focuses on supporting survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, trafficking, and stalking to secure suitable housing options and advocating on their behalf. The Housing Coordinator is a member of the Housing team and collaborates closely with the team to ensure appropriate placements, maintains strong community partnerships to enhance housing access, and ensures program compliance with all applicable reporting and funding requirements.
Salary Range: $50,000 - $54,000
Job Duties:
Landlord Engagement & Housing Placement
Engage private market landlords to develop and sustain successful partnerships that increase access to safe, affordable housing.Conduct outreach and marketing to identify units for program participants who are victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, trafficking, and stalking.Advocate for landlords to see past participants barriers (such as eviction history or poor credit) and offer them an opportunity to rebuild, regain stability, and create a path to long-term housing success.Serve as a consistent point of contact and advocate for both landlords and clients, ensuring clear and respectful communication.Act as a liaison between the landlord, client, interdisciplinary team (including Case Managers and other service providers), resolving concerns related to maintenance, unit quality, and safety.Coordinate all move-in and move-out logistics in a trauma-informed and strength-based manner, prioritizing dignity, confidentiality, and housing stability.
Data, Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with agency policy, funder requirements, and program compliance standards.Complete all required forms, ledgers, data entry, and reports necessary to monitor housing placements and participant progress.Uphold confidentiality and ensure that all client files reflect a strength-based assessment and service approach.Assist in monitoring and evaluating housing quality and safety standards per grant and Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requirements.
Training, Supervision & Best Practices
Participate in required organizational and program specific meetings, supervision, interdisciplinary team meetings, and all required professional development trainings.Remain current on best practices related to trauma-informed care, domestic, sexual violence, human trafficking, advocacy, housing navigation, and equitable service delivery.Apply new knowledge and practices to enhance safety, promote housing stability, and ensure responsive service provision for survivors.
Community Collaboration
Represent the YWCA Housing Program at community meetings, and Continuum of Care (CoC) committees.Build strong working relationships with internal and external partners to promote safety-focused, survivor-centered, and coordinated housing efforts.
Other Duties
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support the mission and operational goals of the YWCA Housing ProgramDemonstrate flexibility and willingness to adapt to the evolving needs of survivors and the interdisciplinary service team.
Formal Education/Experience:
Degree in a related field with a minimum of 3 years in a role with related responsibilities or the equivalent education and/or experienceDemonstrated understanding of the impacts of high-risk due to population experiencing homelessness or at-risk of homeless domestic violence, substance use, mental health and chronic healthExperience in conflict management/crisis prevention/negotiation training and/or demonstrated skillsExperience working with survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual assault including dating violence, stalking, human trafficking, or other dangerous or life-threatening conditions that relate to violence against the individual or a family member, including a childDemonstrated understanding of best practices in property managementDemonstrated capacity to engage diverse populations in community-based initiatives and knowledge of local community resourcesDemonstrated awareness and belief in the value of Housing First and Harm Reduction practicesExperience in community networking, case coordination for multi-disciplinary teams, providing a safe environment for women and demonstrated organizational skills requiredAdditional consideration will be given to candidates who are bilingual or possess related advance certifications or licensureCompletion of domestic and sexual assault violence training including safety planning, lethality and suicidal assessmentsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the following databases: Homeless Management information Systems (HMIS) and Efforts to Outcomes (ETO)Candidate is required to complete a background check, First Aid Certification, and valid drivers license
