VP, Clinical Services - Home (Finance)



SUMMARY

The Vice President of Home Clinical Services plans, coordinates, implements high quality home care through analysis and evaluation of multiple methods and tools that measure quality, such as the Network Performance Measures, USRC Clinical Quality Reports, policies, procedures, and directives. This position assumes a proactive role in developing guidelines, policies, procedures, and directives and collaborates with Clinical Specialists, Home Operations team and home clinical staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties and tasks may be assigned.

GROWTH

• Oversee the development of clinical policies and regulatory requirements for USRC home programs.

• Ensure proper and effective use of company resources, i.e. safety and risk reduction and best support methodologies.

• Work with Home Operations team toward the achievement of monthly, quarterly and annual projections based on clinical outcomes and management objectives.

• Monitors losses from home therapies programs and develops protocols and procedures to minimize home therapies drop-out.

OUTCOMES

• Actively tracks company home clinical outcomes and directs the development of tools and initiatives to address and improve undesirable company trends.

• Actively monitors home QIP, DFR, 5-Star and NHSN data to ensure completeness, timeliness and develop programs and initiatives to address outcomes.

• Develop, implement and monitor quality of care processes for the home programs' regulatory compliance in accordance with Company goals and federal, state and local regulations.

• Responsible for positively impacting clinical outcomes by working collaboratively with the CMO, Clinical Services and Home Operations management teams.

• Remain current with dialysis industry and technology.

• Oversee Directors and Clinical Specialists in achieving program target goals for patient outcomes in accordance with Company goals.

OPERATIONAL

READINESS

• Knowledge of and remain current with federal, state, local laws and regulations.

• Identify problems, issues or trends in the home program from a corporate perspective developing tools, initiatives or polices to address and correct.

• Provide guidance on deficiencies for all audits done internally (corporate) or externally (CMS & state specific).

• Evaluate patient care data to ensure that care is provided in accordance with clinical guidelines and organizational performance standards.

• Organize and lead Policy and Procedure committee to create and maintain clinical, education and QAPI policies.

• Understanding of OSHA regulations and incorporate into home policies, procedures and emergency preparedness operations.

• Regular and reliable attendance is required for the job.

PARTNERSHIPS

• Serves as a company resource and liaison for home therapies.

• Lead and promote the Company's mission and philosophy relating to ethics, integrity, safety, corporate responsibility and objectives.

• Regularly communicate with Medical Office staff, Chief Nursing Officer and VPs of Clinical Services on a consistent basis regarding the status of the home programs.

• Maintain collaborative working relationship with Directors, Facility Administrators and regional Operations management.

• In partnership with the IT Department, participate in the development of home staff training in the use of PEARL, from novice to seasoned user.

• Communicate with Medical Directors and nephrologists as needed.

• Maintain a positive/collaborative relationship with physicians, state agencies and the community.

• Actively promote GUEST customer service standards; develop effective relationships at all levels of the organization.

• Respond effectively to inquiries or concerns.

STAFF DEVELOPMENT/ RETENTION

• Identify specific training needs of the clinical organization and develop programs to meet the identified needs. Assists Directors and Home Clinical Specialists with the rollout of programs.

• Develop and provide support for regional preceptor training programs.

• Maintain effective personnel management and employee relations, including coaching and evaluating the performance of personnel; approving and submitting time worked and counseling and disciplining employees.

• Uphold management goals of corporation by leading staff in team concepts and promoting a team effort; perform duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.
