Role description:
We are looking for a dedicated, creative, and energetic candidate, interested in tackling challenges and developing sustainable solutions to address water or wastewater issues related to quality, scarcity, reuse, management, and resilience. This role provides rapid growth and development opportunities; collaborating with other experienced Water Professionals, you will support, manage, and drive development of projects, interact, and work with clients, and develop your technical and professional capabilities.
Role accountabilities:
Lead tasks and projects for the planning, design and construction of Water/Wastewater distribution/collection systems, pump/lift stations, and/or treatment plants.
Perform engineering evaluations, modeling, and analysis.
Develop design and construction documents (i.e., reports, technical memoranda, specifications, and cost estimates).
Support construction administration of projects and lead and/or assist permitting efforts.
Work collaboratively with multi-discipline teams.
Serve as a Project Manager (or Assistant Project Manager) on projects.
Support preparation of proposals and develop scopes of work and budgets.
Support client teams in identifying, tracking, and positioning for opportunities.
Participate in pursuit capture planning for new project opportunities.
Oversee scope of work and the operational workload of a project team including sub-contractors, ensuring work and resources are allocated appropriately.
Manage the performance of team members and sub-contractors, identifying and ensuring the resolution of any issues.
Manage the production of, and quality assure analysis and design and the associated documentation and reports to ensure they meet or exceed client expectations as well as Arcadis requirements, and they comply with national standards and codes of practice.
Lead and provide direction and technical advice to team members, to support them in their delivery on the project and in their professional development.
Travel may be required up to 25% for project site visits, client meetings, safety audits, general planning purposes or to oversee construction activities, depending on project staffing needs.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required Qualifications
7+ years of experience in engineering and consulting.
Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited school.
Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas or the ability to obtain within 1 year after hire.
Key Skills/Abilities
Design experience with water/wastewater treatment systems, distribution/conveyance, and pumping & storage facilities.
Experience with software such as AutoCAD, WaterCAD, InfoWater, SewerCAD, ArcGIS etc.
Ability to build strong client relationships
Strong technical writing and presentation skills.
Ability to clearly communicate whether in person, virtually or through written communications.
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about technical challenges.
Proficient in relevant design software, increased understanding, and ability to use system more effectively.
Produce complex reports and direct junior staff.
Demonstrate a strong ability to work on a task with little or no direct oversight.
Excellent time and workload management skills.
Safety mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of experience in engineering and consulting, primarily related to the municipal water market.
Established strong client relationships.
Project Management experience is a plus.
Master of Science or Master of Engineering in related field.
Active participation in regional and/or national professional associations.
