Vertical Transportation Specialist (Elevators) (Finance)

This position is responsible for managing maintenance, repairs, and renovations of RTD elevators and escalators, and will have a prominent role in shaping how elevators and escalators are managed, standardized, modernized, and replaced. RTD is currently responsible for 91 elevators and 8 escalators for public and internal use in seven counties in the Denver-Boulder metropolitan area. The elevators are both traction power and hydraulic and built by different project teams over 40 years. Maintenance is currently outsourced.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential:

  • Manage all elevator and escalator maintenance, repairs, and renovations in compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations and best practices.  Develop budgets and schedules.  Provide quality control oversight.
  • Follow industry developments, market conditions, supply chain, and pricing factors and issues, and update practices to respond. 
  • Manage existing maintenance contracts and procuring maintenance services from external vendors.  Review cost estimates for being reasonable.
  • Provide management and oversight of all elevator monitoring services.  Oversee data collection, usage, and service life metrics.  Review the data and evidence and find the root cause of elevator issues.  Proactively work to reduce elevator issues.
  • Collaborate on new installations for all RTD elevators and escalators.
  • Develop modernization program for the equipment portfolio.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Highschool, GED or equivalent qualification required.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in conveyance systems industry.
  • Field experience considered a plus.
  • Experience in budgeting, evaluating estimates, and contract administration..
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to use sound judgment.
  • Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to details.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear.

  • The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision.
  • The work environment is field/office environment with some exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues.
  • The work environment will also include field locations where conveying systems reside.

Pay Range:

$77,437.00 - $109,380.25 Annual
