Purpose:
~ Lead the development and management of HMA's brand strategy, business planning, and market research, providing insights related to product, sales, marketing, and overall corporate decision-making in support of HMA executives.
Major Responsibilities:
Manage a broad spectrum of strategic initiatives, research, and insights including:
Brand Strategy and Development:
~ Develop brand strategy, standards, plans, and metric goals.
~ Ensure HMA stakeholders and affiliates understand and incorporate the principles of the brand identity into their jobs.
~ Monitor the state of the brand and identify improvement opportunities with an ongoing basis.
~ Work with departments and ad agency to address shortcomings.
New Model Launch Strategies:
~ Develop new model launch plans, ensuring alignment across all relevant divisions including Product Planning, Marketing, Sales, and Service.
Business Planning:
~ Lead cross-functional development of short term and long-range business plans, incorporating market and competitive assessment, strategic priorities, and Executive direction.
~ Organize semi-annual corporate Business Planning meetings.
~ Facilitate development of new programs and strategies that require input and agreement across multiple departments within HMA.
Consumer and Market Insights:
~ Oversee all consumer-oriented research and insights related to shopping behavior, social media metrics, future trends, loyalty, and the state of the economy.
~ Monitor the needs and opportunities of HMA customers and prospects, providing HMA executives and stakeholders with ongoing assessment of areas of strength, weakness, and growth opportunities.
Market Research:
~ Oversee all market research and analysis, custom and syndicated, related to product development, product assessment, marketing strategy, sales growth opportunities, communications strategy, and brand development.
~ Provide leadership and consultation to HMA and its affiliates regarding market research best practices and resources.
Executive Support:
~ Support Executives with ad hoc projects related to customer insights, brand direction, program assessments, and employee engagement.
~ Direct subordinate(s) to compile, analyze, and interpret all industry and internal data related to projects listed above, culminating in insightful executive reports and recommendations. Provide growth and learning opportunities to subordinates through clarity of objectives, prioritization of projects, and overall leadership and guidance.
~ Support other cross-functional efforts as required. Ensure projects are examined with rigorous due diligence, with a corporate-level perspective that addresses key concerns from the various stakeholders.
Authority:
~ Signature authority of PRs, CRs based on Finance matrix. Negotiate with Vendors as needed (but no signature authority).
~ Determine division of work responsibility within the Corporate Planning department.
Education:
~ Bachelor's degree preferred
~ Master's degree a plus
Related Experience:
~ Ten plus years of experience of which at least eight years in enterprise management related to brand strategy, business planning, and market research.
~ Five years of supervisory experience desired.
~ Knowledge of automotive industry definitely a plus.
Skill/Knowledge:
~ Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
~ Strong orgranizational and team leadership skills.
~ Effective communciation skills.
~ Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Physical requirement:
~ Normal office duties
