Senior Manager Pricing Margin Management (Finance)
As a key member of the Pet Food Business Development team, the Sr. Manager Pricing & Margin Management will lead the pet food strategic pricing initiatives for marketing and sales. This position will have high levels of collaboration with finance, procurement, R&D and operations to ensure that all relevant data, trends and strategies are utilized to create recommendations for the business unit around pricing action, analysis and forecasts, and tracking of execution.
Essential Position Responsibilities - This is a Salary Exempt position.
Develop strategic thinking around pricing strategies that will lead to longer term profitable growth for the pet food business unit . This analytical problem solver will be able to combine large data sets and information from various teams to create strategy and recommendations that can be implemented by the sales and marketing team. This role will help break down barriers and hurdles in the way of speed to market, efficiency and new ways of working. This role will report to the Senior Director of Business Development and will assist the cross functional leadership of Sales, Marketing and Finance to be able to find consumer-backed solutions and market-based strategies to drive profit to the P&L.
Revenue Growth Management. Create annual plans for omni-channel pricing strategies to optimize profit while managing cost input and commodities changes. Fully understand market data trends and be prepared with the on-going and annual strategy around pricing actions and other ways to optimize the P&L. This also means collaborating with sales operations and category development to drive out un-profitable business and SKUs in order to drive efficiency which will assist and capacity planning and profitability. Create models for outgoing years based on volume, dollar and unit movement to analyze price per oz and price realization using Nielsen and Euromonitor data.
Price-Pack-Architecture. The role will coordinate with the rest of Marketing on relevant consumer data and studies to help determine what pack sizes and price points we should be delivering. This is critical to help drive the right value proposition for the brands we serve and develop. Work will include analyzing variety pack vs. singles and crafting the go-to-market strategies for all size offerings. Channel strategies will also need to be created in order to best meet the needs of our customers but also our consumers who shop in those different channels from a total omni-market perspective.
Leads pricing elasticity work. Develop the tools and analysis to understand the implications of any price changes within our portfolio or the market and what impact those will have on volume and dollar sales. Coordinate with the demand planning team to ensure that they fully account for these changes in execution to ensure supply utilization. Use statistical modeling and identify other tools or software needed in order to successfully uncover all the variables that drive price change strategy.
Strategy and Communication . Develops and facilitates internal communications regarding the business unit's focus around pricing and margin management to include internal meetings with sales and marketing managers, procurement and finance stakeholders, as well as other activities promoting the knowledge and understanding of our strategic goals and effect on our customer base.
Maintains and fosters strong communication and relationships across organization. Works to be an active clearinghouse of ideas, concerns and activity on behalf of the full commercial team. Acts as a champion for the business and team. Acts as an idea leader, building compelling and persuasive business cases to ensure alignment, gaining broad-based support for and resource allocation to the activities of the team.
Participates as a member of the Team. Participates in the ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforce actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.
Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives : Is familiar with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position's role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): As required by visiting facility.
Travel : Travels as needed; to and from multiple facilities, sometimes requiring overnight stays.
Technical Experience : Ideally 5+ years of experience in sales and/or replenishment data analytics, category management, or other relevant area. CPG experience preferred. Highly proficient with MS Office applications; advanced skills in Excel required. Comfort with using data mining software; Tableau and Alteryx competency highly preferred.
Industry Experience : Preference for pet food and/or high velocity consumer packaged goods background
Minimum Education : Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Analytics, Marketing or other relevant Business discipline or 4 years related work experience.
