Softgel Operator I (Manufacturing)



Description:

This is an entry-level position responsible for supporting Softgel Operations, including equipment cleaning, spreading Softgel capsules on trays, and operating the Softgel drying tunnel. The role requires adherence to departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and is performed under close supervision.

Schedule:

2nd Shift 3:30pm - 12:00am Monday to Friday

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION 

  • Evenly spreads Softgel capsules onto trays to ensure optimal drying. Maintains an adequate supply of tray paper and empty trays at the rear of the dryer to support continuous operations. 30%
  • Cleans and maintains processing equipment, tools, and production areas in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Ensures all clean rooms and process areas remain organized, tidy, and compliant with established cleanliness and hygiene standards. 25%
  • Notifies machine operators of any poor-quality Softgel observed from the drying baskets or any issues related to malfunctioning machine components. 15%
  • Assists the machine operator by checking the temperature of medicine or gelatin as needed. Ensures lubricant buckets are consistently filled and readily available for machine operation. 10%
  • Responsible for loading and unloading Softgel capsules onto trays for the drying process. Replaces towels in drying baskets as required and ensures proper stacking and arrangement of trays within the drying tunnels to support efficient drying operations. 10%
  • Inspects Softgel capsules for physical defects such as irregular shapes, leaks, and other abnormalities. Operates the Softgel sorting machine in accordance with product specifications outlined in the batch record. 10%

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Abide by the Amneal's current rules and regulations.
  • Flexible to work extended hours when required.
  • Performs other functions as assigned.
     
 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School or GED -Preferred

WORK EXPERIENCE 

  • 1 year or more - Preferred

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills in English - Intermediate
  • High school level math and mechanical skills - Intermediate
  • Ability to work as part of a team - Intermediate
  • Ability to identify issues and develop practical solutions - Intermediate
  • Basic computer literacy with the ability to use web browsers, typing applications, Microsoft Office, and related communication tools - Intermediate
