Senior Accountant (Remote Opportunity) (Biotech)
How you'll make a difference:
We seek a proactive Senior Accountant to help accurately and efficiently maintain our books and accounts. You must be organized, accurate, and meticulous while communicating effectively with others in a friendly environment. Additionally, you will have a direct impact on financial reporting and analysis, so you must be comfortable dealing with sensitive information and meeting deadlines.
What you'll do:
As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining a complete and accurate general ledger including general ledger transactions, posting journal entries, reconciling daily activities, and the creation of ancillary reports. You will play a key role in month end close preparations through generating accruals, allocation reclassifications, and account reconciliations. To be effective, you will need to take full ownership over your responsibilities and be highly organized and detail-oriented. Accordingly, you must thrive in a transactional work environment, be comfortable maintaining a consistent routine, and enjoy checking items off both your short term “to-do” list each day, as well as managing ad hoc projects.
Additionally, you will be responsible for supporting reconciliations and analysis for both balance sheets and profit and loss statements. Your role will perform operational high-impact projects such as year-end audits and store profit and loss analysis.
Finally, to work in our energetic team environment, you will need to possess strong communication skills and an ability to build ongoing relationships with team members across Custom Ink.
Responsible for core bookkeeping and accounting procedures, including posting journal entries, reviewing and analyzing account activity
Prepares 40-50 monthly account reconciliations
Assure that financial records and processes are in compliance with GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley
Work with internal partners, external partners and auditors on all accounting related items
Prepare ad hoc financial analysis/reporting, including monthly and quarterly financial reporting, as well as our month end soft close process.
Take ownership of the Online Store and Retail flash and work directly with the Stores teams
How you'll be measured:
Proper execution of accounting and financial functions is critical to the successful administration of the business. Accordingly, your performance will be judged on the following measures of success:
Consistently meet deadlines with respect to month end bookkeeping, and financial reporting
Improvement of current financial processes, including fixed asset schedules, variance analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations
What we're looking for:
Academic background in accounting, finance or related subject with relevant experience
3-5 years of experience as an accountant
CPA certification
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Experience in a Big 4 or Public Company Experience
