Senior Financial Analyst - Innovation (Project Management)
Job Description
Position Summary
The SFA, Innovation role is responsible for all financial aspects of the Beer Division's New Product Development process. The position will maximize the financial results of new product introductions by providing financial expertise, strategic partnership, & thought leadership which will enable sound decision-making, project prioritization, and financial forecasting throughout the NPD stage-gate process. The role will be responsible for tracking accuracy of new product KPI forecasts & post-analyses to influence expansion vs. incubation vs. discontinue decisions.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive communicator who will become an indispensable & trusted advisor to the Beer Innovation, Marketing, & Finance teams. The position will collaborate with multiple internal partners across bands of seniority, including brand marketing, innovation, commercial & operations finance teams for input and commercial expertise in pricing, volume forecasts, portfolio mix, capital planning & A&P investment.
Responsibilities
Provide analytical and financial support for Innovation, leveraging multiyear P&L models to ensure projects meet key financial hurdles
Provide constructive challenge and control ensure new item launch recommendations have a clearly defined path to success.
Track Business metrics/KPIs and actively manage performance of new product introductions. Proactively identify commercial & operational opportunities and ensure the mitigation of risks. Review financial performance & analyze future go-to-market initiatives.
Develop annual domestic capital expense plans on behalf of innovation teams
Maintain a thorough understanding of TBA industry trends, technology, competitors and business processes.
Reporting Relationship
Reports directly into Manager, Innovation Finance – Beer Division
Qualifications
Experienced & qualified financial professional with 3-5 years' relevant experience contributing to NPD, Innovation & Stage Gate processes
Bachelor's degree (preferably in Accounting or Finance) required, MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred
Cost accounting & relevant supply chain or operations finance experience a plus
Significant experience delivering strong results within a global, matrix, regulated environment
Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate analytical findings into strategically relevant, actionable recommendations/processes
Ability to influence and counsel senior management on key financial issues within the business
Excellent business orientation, with understanding of the key drivers, issues, constraints etc. of the business
Experience with and ability to work with and manipulate large amounts of data and summarize key results
Must be highly organized and able to prioritize & work independently in a fast-paced, complex environment
Results oriented, able to complete assignments in a timely and accurate manner, and the ability to manage competing priorities
Ability to understand/deal with complex issues and implement practical and innovative solutions to problems
Strong presentation skills with a proven ability to present at Senior Management level
Ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships at all levels
Highly proficient use of Excel, PowerPoint & other Microsoft products
Ability to travel domestically & internationally as needed (less than 25%)
