Laboratory Services Specialist (Finance)

Job Description:

• Communicates and collaborates with Sponsors and Study Directors on projects to ensure all testing information is correct and accurate. Ensures proper tests are selected based on biocompatibility testing requirements, and that clear and correct sample preparation instructions are communicated.
• Manages the initiation of standard biocompatibility studies including coordinating meetings with internal stakeholders, assisting with device allocations, communicating study starts, protocol binder development, label creation, and printing study specific forms.
• Communicates effectively across NAMSA sites and with Lab Services, Study Directors, and Management related to study submission, study timelines, quote reconciliation, and client expectations.
• Maintains effective versions of standard protocols and reviews final study deliverables for completion for upload to NAMSA's online portal.
• Ensures all necessary information is entered into NAMSA's online portal and enterprise software systems.
• Coordinates with the purchasing department if control (predicate) article procurement is required for studies.
• Communicates with Accounts Receivable department to ensure studies may start and deliverables may be uploaded to the online portal for Sponsor receipt.
• Communicates with Scientific department to ensure study timelines are met.
• Receives, releases and labels study articles for testing and communicates with applicable departments on the disposal or return of study articles.
• Maintains an efficient and clean work area by organizing and re-stocking laboratory areas as needed.
• Assists with editing or creating worksheets, SOPs, and reference documents.
• Assists management with various administrative duties such as monitoring supply inventories, assisting with scheduling and process development and improvement, etc.
• Communicates well with auditors, clients, and other NAMSA Associates.
• Organizes and performs weekly department inspections to ensure GLP labeling requirements are met.
• Performs surface area/volume ratio calculations to determine study article allocations with assistance.
• Contributes to the ongoing development of the client portal by initiating process improvements, tracking issues, and performing beta testing prior to implementation. Identifies additions and refinements to the existing online portal.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Technical Competencies:

• Bachelor's degree in biology or a related scientific field is preferred.
• Strong PC and Microsoft Office skills required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; good telephone etiquette; aptitude to learn and accurately perform clerical tasks.
• Proficiency in basic and advanced math skills is required.

Working Conditions:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to sharps, human and animal blood, and hazardous or caustic chemicals, and occasionally may be exposed to chemical gasses. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Safety glasses and hearing protection are required in designated areas and when performing specific tasks.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds with assistance. The employee may be required to view computer monitors and stand for extended periods of time.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, the ability to adjust focus, exceptional spatial acuity and visual-kinesthetic coordination.

Pay Range Minimum:
$17.79

Pay Range Target:
$23.00

Pay Frequency:
Hourly
