The Essity Manufacturing INCO North America team is currently seeking an Operations Manager in our Manufacturing Facility in Bowling Green, KY.

About the Role:

The Operations Manager is ultimately responsible for the total operation results (SQCDM), including maintenance costs

  • Responsible for the overall production results of the operations
  • Lead effectively the management of costs to bring savings to ensure market competitiveness.
  • Create an environment where controls ensure the sustainability of results.
  • Ensure that internal and external best practices are used to help improve performance.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to Department Managers in order to develop the skills and expertise of the team to achieve the performance objectives of the operations.
  • Develop initiatives with teams to achieve strategic objectives, for an intense participation of the team focused on accountability, rigor and continuous improvement.
  • Participate as an active member of the SLT to ensure key results according to the CBN are defined and delivered.

Position Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Is a Role Model for Safety.
  • Support business strategic initiatives.
  • Responsible for the application of systems and standards (work instructions and procedures for safety, quality, HMEX, etc.);
  • Align and Create synergy between department units.
  • Responsible for HMEX enabler roll out in operation area.
  • Responsible for development of the organizational capability to get the expected results.
  • Contributes to Site CBN - Set the unit objectives and Goals in line with the CBN.
  • Is ultimately responsible for the operation results (SQCDM) related to all the business units.
  • Coaches and develop the organization in the right behaviors.  Coaches and facilitate losses elimination by using problem solving tools.
  • Applies DDS methodology to create and run to standards.
  • Accountable for the unit Operational Budget.
  • Ensures effective communication and results review through the meeting sequence (Team/Shift handover/MBUs/Site)
  • Accountable for Performance Management process and responsible for consequence management within his/her department.
  • Lead the individual and team development to ensure a sustainable talent pipeline and effective culture that drives continuous improvement.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • More than 10 years of production experience and 5 years in an operations management position.
  • High level of analysis and decision making.
  • Sense of organization and planning.  
  • A convener and coach.
  • Rigor and discipline.
  • Travel both domestic and international less than 20% of the time.
