Packaging Engineer (Architecture)
To design new packaging and improve existing packaging while assisting Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) with implementation in accordance with Pride's procedures and protocols
•Design and maintain the most efficient and effective packaging of the company's capital products including all product lines and associated accessories
•Work closely with Research and Development (R&D) in the design of packaging for finished goods, components and assemblies to ensure compliance with all internal and external requirements
•Prepare and maintain the documentation drawings as related to packaging in a Product Data Management (PDM)/Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) environment
•Monitor First Time Quality (FTQ) reports pertaining to shipping, and effectively troubleshoot issues
•Prepare documentation in line with engineering protocols and regulations, and ensure that the manufacturing specifications are compliant with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and ISO regulations
•Work collaboratively with Purchasing and Production to determine costs and feasibility of producing proposed packaging
•Travel to OEMs to support packaging initiatives including managing trials and analytics to determine packaging feasibility
•Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management
•Attend the Annual C-TPAT Security Training
•Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment
•Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations
•Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary

Must have the ability to:
•Multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment
•Prepare and present summary reports
•Travel internationally at least twice a year for up to 2 weeks at a time
Must have:
•Relentless drive to achieve advancement and continuous improvement
•Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
•Intermediate working knowledge of 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks or Creo
•Basic familiarity with International Safe Transit Association (ISTA) and American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards and regulations pertaining to packaging materials, processes, and test procedures
•Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
•Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
•Excellent web navigation skills
•Strong working knowledge of 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks or Creo preferred
•Basic working knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) or Product Data Management (PDM) systems preferred
•Lift/Push/Pull 40 lbs. preferred
•At least 1 year of experience with packaging development and related processes, OR equivalent internship experience
•At least 3 years of experience with packaging development and related processes preferred
•At least 1 year of experience with corrugate and Engineered Polymer Solutions (EPS) materials preferred
•Bachelor's Degree in Packaging Science, Packaging Engineering, Logistics, or a related Engineering field, OR an Associate Degree in a related Engineering field with at least 6 years of the required experience
•Bachelor's Degree in Packaging Science or Packaging Engineering preferred
