Under supervision of the medical director, Clinical Practitioner (PA or NP) will assess, plan and provide direct patient care and clinical services to EmblemHealth Health@Work patients and clients, consistent with established treatment protocols and scope of licensure. The Practitioner will also participate in all aspects of EmblemHealth Health@Work operations including clinical care, education, outreach, and research.
Responsibilities
Evaluate and treat new and established patients of EmblemHealth Health@Work , including history, physical exam, patient education, and discussion of workers' compensation. Provide appropriate treatment and follow-up activities as well as evaluation of workplace hazards, co-workers at risk and the need for industrial hygiene involvement, as appropriate.
Participate in NYSDOH clinical network data acquisition and research protocols.
Develop and implement educational programs for occupational health and community health settings.
Develop and implement clinical programs for occupational and community settings.
Actively participate in EmblemHealth Health@Work clinical management activities such as QA, Infection Control Committee and Work Place Safety Committee.
Regular attendance is an essential function of the job. Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
Active, unrestricted NYS license/certification as a Physician's Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
Current certification or willingness to register with NYS Workers Compensation Board to see patients.
Minimum 5 - 8 years clinical experience as a NP or PA required
Must be computer literate required
Must have effective public speaking skills required
Must be able to have a flexible schedule required
Ability to effectively screen and treat patients who are appropriate for services required
Ability to manage a caseload of patients required
Ability to make appropriate referrals to internal and external programs that meet the patient's needs required
Ability to create and execute care plans and document per EmblemHealth policies and procedures required
Ability to work effectively with patients from a wide range of cultural, social and economic backgrounds required
Ability to communicate professionally with patients required
Ability to work effectively with internal and external contacts required
