POSITION SUMMARY:
If you are a project manager professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Novi, MI, USA location, you will keep project information flowing seamlessly between functional tracks, customers, and leadership stakeholders while shaping a new portfolio management system to drive growth for one of our most exciting segments – Analytical & Medical.
AS A GLOBAL PROJECT MANAGER, YOU WILL:
Lead global project prioritization & resource plans for gated new product development projects
Organize meetings with cross-functional new product development teams to drive projects
Prepare and lead gate meetings with upper management to secure resources and support
Create and manage project schedules and provide updates as necessary to leadership
Analyze and manage project risk to identify and evaluate risks prior to and during projects
Manage project status data and report consolidated project funnel to leadership teams
WHO YOU ARE:
You create and implement plans that allocate resources precisely. You use milestones to diligently track and manage the progress of the work. You look for obstacles and develop excellent contingency plans while also persisting in accomplishing objectives despite any obstacles and setbacks. You effectively communicate in various settings: one-on-one, small and large groups, or among diverse styles and position levels. You provide timely and helpful information to individuals across the organization. You are an experienced and confident project manager.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering, or other appropriate field of study
3+ years of work experience in project management
Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, & best practices
Demonstrated skills in the competencies of driving results, organizational savvy, decision quality, courage, and ensuring accountability
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to travel for 5 – 10% of working hours (assuming normal travel conditions)
Legal authorization to work in the United States
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or other globally recognized certification in project management a plus
Familiarity with an Agile Project Management tool such as Asana or another equivalent
2+ years of work experience with global project teams
Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle
