Job Summary

The Production Control Supervisor plays a critical role responsible for overseeing the entire production planning and scheduling process for multiple manufacturing facilities. This position ensures the efficient and timely production of products to meet customer demand and maintain optimal inventory levels. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, and a proven ability to manage complex production schedules to maximize plant efficiency and profitability.

  • This is an onsite role based in Phoenix, AZ

Job Responsibilities

Production Planning & Scheduling:

  • Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules for all concrete block/hardscape-making machines
  • Collaborate with the sales and dispatch teams to prioritize customer orders and ensure on-time delivery
  • Monitor raw material levels (e.g., aggregates, cement, admixtures) and coordinate with the production teams to prevent shortages
  • Adjust schedules in real-time to account for equipment maintenance, unexpected downtime, or changes in customer orders

Inventory & Materials Management:
  • Oversee the management of raw material stock and finished goods inventory
  • Work with yard managers to optimize the storage and rotation of finished product
  • Implement strategies to minimize waste and breakage during the production and curing processes
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and full inventory audits to ensure accuracy

Team Leadership:
  • Supervise, train, and mentor a team of production planners and operations coordinators
  • Conduct performance evaluations, set clear expectations, and foster a team-oriented environment focused on safety and quality

Process Improvement & Reporting:
  • Analyze production data, including machine uptime, cycle times, and scrap rates, to identify areas for efficiency improvements
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule preventive maintenance to minimize unscheduled downtime
  • Generate and present reports on production output, on-time delivery, and inventory status to management
  • Champion lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives within the production control department

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with significant experience in concrete related manufacturing
  • 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role
  • Proven experience with production planning, scheduling, and inventory control
  • Strong proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling software
  • Deep understanding of the concrete batching, molding, and curing processes
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to make quick, data-driven decisions
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, for data analysis and reporting
