Machine Shop, Hourly (Finance)



As a Machine Shop employee here at Honeywell, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our machining processes run efficiently, safely, and in accordance with quality standards, while optimizing production schedules. You will lead a team of skilled technicians and collaborate with other departments to meet production goals and customer requirements. Your leadership will be instrumental in maintaining and improving our manufacturing operations to increase savings and better serve our customers.

In this role, you will impact our manufacturing operations by leading, mentoring, and developing a team of skilled machinists, programmers, and support staff, fostering a culture of excellence, safety, and collaboration. You will efficiently allocate and manage resources, implement rigorous quality control processes, develop production schedules, oversee machine maintenance, monitor operational expenses, ensure safety compliance, and drive continuous improvement.As a Machine Shop Manager here at Honeywell, you will ensure efficient, safe machining processes, optimize production schedules, and lead a team to meet goals and customer requirements, driving continuous improvement. You will report directly to our ISC Production Supervisor and you'll work out of our Boyne City, Mi locationYOU MUST HAVE

Proven experience as a machine shop manager or similar role

2+ years of experience with machining processes and equipment

Excellent leadership and team management skills

Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions

Good understanding of quality control principles

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Experience in implementing lean manufacturing principles

Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices

Continuous learning mindset and willingness to adapt to new technologies

Key Responsibilities

Operate and maintain various machine tools and equipment to produce precision parts

Set up and adjust machines according to specifications

Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as necessary to ensure quality and efficiency

Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards

Troubleshoot and resolve issues with machines or tools

Collaborate with other team members and departments to optimize production schedules and meet customer demands About Us
