The Manufacturing Engineer isresponsible for developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing methods toachieve improved quality, product cost, and manufacturing efficiency. Thisposition applies knowledge of design, materials/components, fabrication,welding and paint processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities,assembly methods and quality standards.
Candidate will use skills acquiredthrough formal training/education to execute the following and related tasks insupport of product development and management responsibilities.
Design and develop equipment,processes, and shop layout for maximum efficiency and flow.
Develop, audit and maintain timestandards for the establishment of accurate standard costs.
Implement continuous improvement andLean manufacturing principles and techniques to realize gains in employeeownership, performance, reliability.
Recommend ways to reduce productcosts and improve functionality. Actively work with design engineers andproduct line teams to implement design and manufacturing changes.
Evaluate capital equipmentinvestments and prepares cost justifications as well as manage the overallimplementation of capital equipment projects within allocated budgets and timeschedules.
Partner with business unit qualitydepartment and shop floor in quality improvements through root cause analysisand problem resolution.
Ensure all changes are madeconsistent with ergonomic and other safety standards.
Manage production bills of materialand support material requirement planning systems
Perform all duties within theTextron Business Conduct Guidelines.
Bachelor'sdegree in Manufacturing Engineering/Industrial Engineering or an equivalentfield of Engineering.
Abilityto read and understand design drawings with geometric dimensioning andtolerance (GD&T).
Strongcomputer skills (Access, Excel, Word, CAD software, ERP/MRP system).
Effectivecommunication/interpersonal skills are required.
