CMS Chemical Manager (Finance)
Primarily responsible for managing the CMS (Chemical Management Services) Program and supporting inventories for multiple customers. The incumbent's position is responsible to support/guide program launch, oversee implementation, and support the program over the life of the contract. The incumbent will be the primary contact for customer inquiries at the beginning of a program related to the overall issues associated with the chemical management program. The incumbent will manage PPG supervisors and/or coordinators on customer sites and at the ASC and guide them on maintenance of the overall CMS program. The incumbent will assist in the contract review and negotiation process as necessary to define key performance metrics and how they are measured then recorded between customer and PPG. He/she will also be responsible for assisting in the pursuit of new CMS business and demonstrating the value of the program to current and potential customers.
The incumbent will be responsible for the supporting implementation of the CMS Hazardous Material Management software and Consignment Software Packages. They will be a liaison between internal and external aerospace and corporate IT resources to achieve strong chemical management reporting processes that extracts data (ex. SAP) for use into PPG software packages to enable inventory visibility and control. The incumbents' understanding of the IT interface and similar programs will be critical to the success of CMS programs. The incumbent must also have a good understanding of EHS regulations and processes. The incumbent must manage and pursue contractual relationships with PPG chemical suppliers to help target and identify potential savings per year for gain share. The incumbent will be responsible for managing key purchasing personnel that are assigned to individual CMS accounts to assure uninterrupted flow of material. The incumbent will also analyze best method for distribution transportation, and storage of chemicals for each program.
He/she must have flexibility to work independently without step-by-step direction while being a strong team player. He/she must be a change agent and innovator across a wide variety of processes for manufacturing and services. He/she must have proven ability to measure, analyze, improve, and control key process characteristics that most strongly influence customer satisfaction. The incumbent must be an excellent communicator and leader of internal cross-functional teams and suppliers. The incumbent will assist in the training of customer team personnel and new PPG personnel during the roll out and implementation phases. He/she will develop a network of key support functions within the ASC and within the customer's facility.

For the effective performance in this position the incumbent should possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or a business related discipline and/or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience. Must pass PPG's Supervisory Assessment. A minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, marketing, technology, purchasing, or technical service is required. Experience in the following areas is beneficial: business process analysis & improvement, lean & six sigma, quality assurance, strategic sourcing, team facilitation, materials management, QAD, enterprise resource planning (ex. SAP), and cost reduction. A high degree of professionalism, excellent communication and presentation skills are required. Must have the ability to work with minimal direction. Must be able to work with personnel in Sales, Marketing, and Business Managers. Computer literacy in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project is desired. The ability to evaluate the industrial work environment is also a necessary skill. He/she must be able to always convey a professional image both to internal PPG as well as with the customers and suppliers. Must be able to travel up to 30%.
