Assistant Account Executive, Health (Finance)

Edelman's NY office is seeking an Assistant Account Executive to join our growing Healthcare team! Health-related PR experience preferred but not required.

Edelman's Health Sector team provides a wide array of communications services to a diversified portfolio of healthcare clients including major pharmaceutical companies, hospitals and providers, health insurers, associations, life sciences companies, government and public health organizations. By employing innovative and thoughtful strategies, the Health Sector team develops integrated corporate reputation, public affairs, advocacy, and brand campaigns that help our clients promote their brands and policy positions, protect their reputations and license to operate, and influence public perceptions and policy outcomes.

We're looking for a passionate, proactive communicator to join our team in supporting a leading pharmaceutical client. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact, meaningful work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. As an Assistant Account Executive, you'll gain hands-on experience across a broad range of pharmaceutical communications and can sharpen your skills alongside a team of seasoned professionals with deep expertise at the intersection of healthcare and public relations.

Responsibilities:

    • Support the day-to-day execution of communications plans that meet client objectives
    • Manage multiple projects from conception to completion, by anticipating challenges and ensuring deadline and budget adherence
    • Consistently produce high quality internal and external communications content often under tight timelines and with competing priorities
    • Monitor for relevant industry news, media and social coverage
    • Help with coordination of agendas, meetings and timelines
    • Build relationship with clients and colleague at all levels
    • Commit to continuous learning and improvement of leadership skills; set and pursue stretch goals
    • Possess a solid understanding of the current healthcare landscape and topical issues
    • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Edelman's values (Quality, Integrity, Respect, Entrepreneurial Spirit, Mutual Benefits) and Code of Ethics and Business Conduct

Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

    • At least 6 months of relevant experience in public relations and/or related fields including research, advertising, management consulting, media, and publishing
    • Possess good interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to work effectively with a variety of account service staff within a specific set of accounts
    • Prior internship experience preferred
    • Strong research, writing, and editing skills and the ability to develop media contacts/relationships
    • Solid grasp of all basic public relations tools and how they are used to achieve client goals
    • Strong work ethic and dedication to consistently provide quality work to their team and clients

$38,000 - $53,000 a year

An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
