• Development of Product solutions at the individual or group level to support market segment and/or customer demand.
• Serves as the Subject Matter Experts to customer sales and the organization.
• Manages the Product Line Cycle as well as working with sales/brokers and internal resources to successfully deliver innovative solutions that ensure profitability, market growth and customer satisfaction.
• Position ensure that mandate requirement is met.
Specific Duties:
• Partners with Actuarial, Underwriting and Sales to manage the product line life cycle.
• Provides indepth market, customer and competitive analysis to drive product positioning by market or customer.
• Drives solutions to ensure products are operational zed successfully in the organization for delivery to market.
• Develop content and positioning for product, including the development of tools, collateral and training.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Lead departmental role that requires mentoring/coaching/development of Product Managers and Assistant Product Managers includes assigning projects, tracking projects, and teaching new staff.
2. Lead the cross departmental Medicare Product Development Work Group (which includes participation from Actuarial, Pharmacy, Operations, Care Management, etc.) to discuss new product designs and existing product benefit changes, and to evaluate operational feasibility.
3. Development of weekly, monthly and quarterly Product Management reports that track progress of product implementations, benefit or policy/procedure updates.
4. Development of product/project PowerPoint presentations and presenting these proposals to senior and executive management.
5. Assists with development of the departmental budget, assists with interviewing candidates, and training new staff.
6. Provide feedback on Product Managers progress that will be used in the development of performance monitoring.
7. Perform market research to understand trends in Medicare product design, benefit enhancements and administration of Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement products
8. Identify Medicare product enhancements/benefits requiring filing modifications and complete the annual Medicare bid filing and validation. Coordinate with Legal, Actuarial, Compliance, and Operational areas to develop filings.
9. Oversee implementation and administration of product enhancements and identify/coordinate changes with all impacted internal departments.
10. Monitor assigned products and coordinate with various internal areas to address problems and improve product delivery.
11. Develop and implement effective marketing strategies, project timelines, business requirements, and product policies and procedure documentation to support Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, Part D and Ancillary product capabilities and initiatives.
12. Actively participate in the creation or training materials and education of the internal departments that support Medicare, brokers and sales agents in understanding of annual benefits changes and administration of strategic positioning of Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, Part D and Ancillary products.
13. Coordinates the development, implementation, and maintenance of all Government Programs Individual and Employer Group Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplemental, and Ancillary products.
14. Oversight and coordination of contract development, product updates, or required CMS guidance changes for external vendors for Medicare products.
15. Responsible for development of Medicare enrollment projections and Profit and Loss responsibility for Medicare products.
16. Serve as the Medicare product experts and primary contact for internal areas and external vendors regarding Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement covered benefits, products, government requirements, and capabilities.
17. Other duties as assigned.
