Quality Sr Engineer I (678126) - Fully Remote/Virtual Office (Engineering)

The fully remote Quality Sr Engineer is responsible for:

  • Gathering relevant, factual information and data in order to solve quality related problems
  • Resolving issues by identifying and applying solutions from acquired technical experience and guided precedents
  • Planing and leading projects by identifying and organizing activities into time dependent sequencing with realistic timelines
  • Working effectively/ productively with all departments by developing a team atmosphere
  • Responsible for assuring products and processes conform to established requirements and standards through appropriate audit, inspection, and test activities
  • Interacting with many different functional departments, suppliers, and experts outside Zimmer to implement Zimmer Quality goals

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for CAPA process 
  • Monitor the effectiveness of the CAPA system
  • Coordinate routine CAPA meetings and present CAPA metrics during Management Reviews 
  • Trend CAPA metrics and present defined reports at specified intervals 
  • Maintain and revise applicable procedures as necessary
  • Assist/Interface with CAPA owners on CAPA Investigations and Action Plans
  • Conduct training on root cause investigation and problem solving techniques 
  • Generate post market surveillance data and reports

Expected Areas of Competence

  • Ability to work within a team environment and build relationships outside of the department as well as outside the company (suppliers, regulatory agencies, etc.)
  • Strong working knowledge of CAPA processes and post-market surveillance requirements 
  • Expert knowledge of FDA, ISO and international requirements for CAPA
  • Facilitates team efforts on quality engineering projects
  • Ability to deliver, meet deadlines and have results orientation
  • Able to communicate both orally and in written form to multiple levels of the company
  • Knowledge of statistics, process control, and process capability

Education/Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering or an alternative Bachelor's degree program with certification as a Quality Engineer (e.g. CQE) is required
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Quality Engineering role is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Certification as a Quality Engineer (e.g. CQE) or the Reliability Engineer Certification (CRE) granted through the American Society of Quality (ASQ) preferred
  • Combination of education and experience may be considered (in evaluating experience relative to requirements)

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 10%

Compensation Range: $69,500 - $91,400
