General Description – Intensive In-home Family Therapist (IIFT) (50%)
Provides intensive home-based, individual and family therapy to the recipients of the Intensive In-Home Family Therapy contract (IIFT) with Douglas County Juvenile Department's prevention program in Roseburg, Oregon. They may also provide case management and consultation with PCPs, schools, DHS Child Welfare and Self Sufficiency programs, and other community partners. Eligible clients are families with a child, in 4th-6th grade, who is considered to be at risk for entering the juvenile system. Family may be self-referred or referred by Juvenile Prevention, schools, County Mental Health, DHS Child Welfare or Self Sufficiency, or the client's PCP. Authorization for services may be required from the Juvenile Prevention Program.
General Description – Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) (50%)
Provides short-term intensive services to families in which young children are experiencing behavioral and/or emotional difficulties. Responds to referrals from DHS/Child Welfare. Parent Child Interaction Therapy Services serve children ages two through seven, and their caregivers, when the children have significant social, emotional, or behavioral disorders. In PCIT, caregivers are taught specific skills to establish or strengthen a nurturing and secure relationship with their child, while encouraging pro-social behavior and decreasing maladaptive behavior. Ideally, during coaching sessions, the therapist observes the interaction from behind a one-way mirror and provides guidance to the parent through a wireless communication system. Provides skills training to children, and adults to address safety concerns. Develops and implements effective service plan. Practitioner will be trained (if not already trained) by either UC Davis or PCIT International Certified Trainers.
Required Qualifications:
Master's or doctorate degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field. Must be eligible for licensure. Knowledge and/or experience providing mental health services, including assessment and diagnosis to children, families, and adults. Able to provide Parent Child Interactive Therapy (PCIT) interventions to appropriate families; willing to be trained (if not already trained) by either UC Davis or PCIT International Certified Trainers.
Must be computer proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and record keeping software preferred. Must have respectful, open, accepting attitude toward clients and their families. Pass a DHS background check and/or fingerprinting. Maintain client confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of parenting skills/techniques and child development, and experience working with disadvantaged individuals and high-risk families. Strong understanding of available community resources and supports. PCIT trained. Two years' experience working with at- risk families within the last five years. Knowledge of dynamics of high-risk families including sexual abuse, substance use, and domestic violence

* Positions that require driving clients must maintain vehicle insurance as required by law, with a minimum of $100,000/$300,000/$100,000 personal auto liability coverage (proof of insurance will be required).
