Position Title: Sr Staff Accountant (P2)

Role

Responsible for the day-to-day operations, monthly closing aspects and analysis of various corporate accounting functions.

 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations and monthly closing aspects of corporate accounting functions in compliance with the Company's policies, US GAAP debt agreements, SOX controls and/or other regulations.
  • Complete account reconciliations and prepare financial statements and reports on a timely basis, as required.
  • Work with other functional areas and departments to assure the accurate and timely flow of information into financial statements, providing excellent customer service.
  • Analyze and research monthly financial statement variances
  • Responsible for planning, recommending, and implementing the system and reporting enhancements, while partnering with IT and/or any key stakeholders impacted.
  • Manage ambiguity by sharing anomalies and inconsistencies with leadership and assisting with resolution.
  • Identify, research, and recommend conclusions to accounting issues and transactions.
  • Be accountable to general ledger close and other sensitive deadlines.
  • Act as a liaison between the company and its external auditors during audits and reviews.

 

Expectations 

  • Advanced knowledge of basic financial statement fundamentals, ledgers, and journal entries
  • Advanced knowledge of computer accounting software, specifically J.D. Edwards Office applications
  • Expertise in MS Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven problem-solving ability
  • Ability to develop financial acumen to better understand economic and financial value drivers

 

Education/Certifications  

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • Certified Public Accountant and/or MBA preferred

 

Experience/Minimum Requirements  

  • Five (5) years of related general accounting experience
  • Prior experience with telecommunications, construction or real estate industries and/or public accounting preferred

Working Conditions: This role falls into our hybrid work model working in your assigned office approximately 60% of the time (3 days per week) and where you do your best work 40% (2 days per week).  There is an expectation of collaboration with teammates and stakeholders for moments that matter that could require travel.
