As the Company is experiencing rapid growth, the Data Services and BI team is looking for a Sr. Application Programming Interface (API) Architect focused on data platform. Data drives the way we make decisions; and understanding our members makes it possible to provide the best clinical outcome and care experience.
The Sr. API Architect -Data Platform will specialize in Azure Function Apps and Microservice Architecture., and will play a pivotal role in designing, architecting, and developing Azure Function Apps and API within a larger microservice architecture to support various business functions and processes.

• Designing and developing APIs to enable seamless communication between microservices and external systems, adhering to RESTful or other relevant API design principles.
• Creating API documentation and specifications, including clear endpoint definitions, request/response formats, and usage guidelines, to facilitate integration by other development teams.
• Developing architectural designs for a microservices ecosystem, including the design of Azure Function Apps as individual microservices.
• Azure Function App Development: Leading the development of Azure Function Apps as microservices, ensuring that they are modular, scalable, and easily maintainable.
• Designing and implementing integration solutions using Azure Function Apps within the microservices architecture to connect and automate various services and systems.
• Ensuring that Azure Function Apps and the microservices adhere to robust security measures and compliance standards and best practices.
• Tuning Azure Function Apps within the microservices architecture for optimal performance, including load balancing, resource management, and monitoring.
• Creating comprehensive architectural and technical documentation for Azure Function Apps and their integration within the microservices, maintaining records of changes and updates.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and align microservices solutions with organizational goals.
• Identifying and resolving issues related to Azure Function Apps and microservices within the architecture and providing technical support as needed.
• Proactively seeking opportunities to enhance the Azure Function Apps and microservices to better meet business needs and improve efficiency.
• Setting up monitoring and reporting systems to track the performance and usage of Azure Function Apps and microservices, reporting on key metrics.
• Managing the cost of Azure Function Apps and microservices by optimizing resource utilization and recommending cost-saving strategies.
• Ensuring that Azure Function Apps and microservices within the architecture are designed to scale as needed to handle varying workloads.
• Managing Azure resources, including storage, databases, and other services, used by the microservices within the architecture.
• Providing technical leadership to a team of developers and engineers working on Azure Function App and microservices projects.
• Ensuring that Azure Function Apps and microservices adhere to compliance and governance standards set by the organization within the microservices architecture.
• Guiding team members and sharing knowledge about Azure Function Apps, microservices, and best practices within the microservices architecture.
Pay Range: $149,882.00 - $224,823.00
Pay range may be based on a number of factors including market location, education, responsibilities, experience, etc.
