This role falls under our Procurement & Supply Chain team, which handles the company's efforts around procurement processes, strategic sourcing, vendor relationships, and other administration aspects of the company's global operations.
As the Senior Manager of Procurement, you will report to the Director of Procurement & Supply Chain and be responsible for leading the Procurement Analysts and Buyers to ensure that Blackboard optimized its spend related to professional services, annual contracts, IT, marketing/communications, and all other spend areas. You will support the business leaders' goals as well as work with department managers, legal, finance, and accounting to provide strategic input on spend management and develop strategic sourcing plans. You will implement and monitor policies and procedures designed to effectively manage spend and will cooperate closely with the company-wide forecasting process.
Additionally, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing large spend projects and renewals across all business lines. You will facilitate and manage supplier contracts in cooperation with our legal department as well as approve spend and ensure compliance with policies. You will also prepare specific or ad-hoc analytic deliverables including reports, presentations, and models. You will plan and manage capital expenditure and assist in other expense reduction initiatives.
The Candidate:
Has several years of procurement experience in a corporate environment with experience in procurement management
Has a strong knowledge of procurement systems and processes- PeopleSoft, Oracle Fusion, and Concur experience preferred
Has experience managing contract approval processes
Has a strong understanding of common legal terms and impact
Has demonstrated strategic negotiation skills
Is a quick learner of new skills and technical concepts
Has excellent communication and organizational skills and can partner effectively with business leaders
