Benefit Education Manager-East (Finance)

Execution

  • Manage a team of market and regionally aligned Benefit and Well-being Educator and Benefit Education Lead teams who are accountable for delivering benefit education/steerage education to existing and prospective Cigna customers with full management and technical responsibility for team output
  • Support the output of all Customer Event Operations within U.S. Employer
  • Oversee coordination of customer events in respective markets and region (inclusive of all segments)
  • Focus on the effectiveness of team integration with other functional teams (sales, health & well-being, client support, etc.)
  • Guide client/producer/customer-focused problem resolution independently and influence/lead process improvement
  • Actively engage and participate in customer event reporting, project work, and support to a multi-functional sales operation
  • Oversee designated vendors, who support customer engagement activities/events
  • Provide leadership in planning and recruitment activities
  • Adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges and inform direct managers and teams of needs in alignment with Customer Event Operations and U.S. Employer strategy
  • Focus on achievement of assigned goals and support in achieving Customer Event Operations and U.S. Employer goals
  • Able to self-manage assignments, issue resolution and alignment to strategy without immediate supervision

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of market and regionally aligned Benefit and Well-being Educator and Benefit Education Lead teams
  • Drive individual and team execution
  • Responsible for hiring, orienting, evaluating, and developing team members
  • Oversight of customer facing engagement and event execution to Cigna Healthcare
  • Drive team accountability on progress and fulfillment of goals and objectives, providing feedback and coaching and formally reviewing and recognizing performance
  • Provide management and guidance as teams deliver; fostering a growth mindset and champion Cigna's Connect to Growth philosophy
  • Build and maintain relationships with the sales and management team and other key matrix partners at the local and regional level
  • Provide quality assurance for Customer Event Operations strategy, communication, and meeting execution in market and regional alignments
  • Direct critical customer incidents after conducting research and providing appropriate information to various segment business partners regarding customer events and/or specific customer engagement
  • Responsible for the overall management of customer events, including the utilization of reporting on customer event activities that support performance
  • Maintain current knowledge of and expertise in all benefit-related products, programs, strategies, and tactics
  • Escalate and resolve non-routine issues, consulting with leadership as appropriate
  • Engage in Customer Event Operations planning by providing counsel and improvements in market, region and broader U.S. Employer needs to promote efficiency
  • Manage designated enrollment budget and escalation processes to ensure appropriate spending
  • Contribute to projects on efficiency and effectiveness of customer engagement processes, guidelines, and systems broadly impacting Customer Event Operations
  • Utilize in-depth professional knowledge but is guided by functional practices and well-defined management precedents
  • Focus on implementing and executing strategies within their own department/discipline/team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree; in health education, health administration, marketing, business, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of leading/or prior management experience preferred
  • Ability to obtain an insurance license as directed if requested by management.
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Strong business acumen, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks are required
  • Proven ability to develop strong working relationships with matrix partners in the organization and leverage these resources to drive deliverables
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with direct experience successfully managing customer-facing initiatives within highly matrixed organizations
  • Proven ability to excel in a heavily matrixed environment
  • Ability to analyze complex market opportunities and develop creative solutions in partnership with sales, account management, underwriting, and product teams to solve various unique market problems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), CRM system (Salesforce.com) desired
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing workflows, in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Bi-lingual Spanish-speaking and/or multi-lingual candidates highly desired
  • Must be willing to travel to remote trainings/meetings as needed - 25%
  • Must live in Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, North Carolina, or South Carolina and be willing to go to the local office as needed

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 94,500 - 157,500 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
