Director, Weekend College (Release Time Position) (Education)
Job Summary
Responsible for overseeing and expanding the college's Weekend College program. This includes developing and implementing strategies to recruit and retain students, managing course schedules, working with assigned instructors and the college personnel assigned to the Weekend College, and ensuring a high-quality academic experience for weekend students.
DURATION
To be determined by Faculty contract, as assigned by Sr. VC, Instruction, Student Services & Chief Academic Officer.
Will teach one course per semester, either as a part of the Weekend College Curriculum or in the Director's major teaching field.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develop and implement recruitment and marketing strategies which promote the Weekend College program utilizing college events and appropriate venues in the community to increase enrollment.
Produce Weekend College program materials including course schedules, flyers, website content, etc.
Recruit students through a variety of activities, including local and community events, and visiting area high schools to provide recruitment information and materials, and establish connections with 12th grade counselors.
Collaborate with department chairs to identify faculty to teach weekend sections and linked classes, plan course schedules and offerings for each semester/session to meet student needs and demands.
Serve as the primary point of contact and advocate for Weekend College students. Assist students with enrollment, registration and financial aid processes, and address issues and concerns.
Encourage students to take leadership positions in campus clubs, honor societies, Phi Theta Kappa, or student government.
Monitor student retention, satisfaction, and outcomes. Recommend and implement process improvements as needed.
Compile reports on program data such as enrollment trends, demographics, completion rates, etc.
In consultation with the Executive director, prepare and administer the program budget.
Work with all colleges that offer the Weekend College model and the colleges' representatives of the Weekend College.
Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as required and assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
· Master's degree in an academic field taught within the AA or AS curriculum.
· 3 years full-time teaching experience at HCC.
Licensing & Certifications

Working Conditions
General office. May frequently be required to walk; stand; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer, photocopier, file cabinets, and calculator. Manual dexterity, ability to lift up to 25 pounds, ability to reach and bend, and use 2-step stool while safely lifting and lowering boxes. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events. Required to work on Saturdays.
