(Sr.) Engineer (Architecture)
The (Sr.) Engineer will support the Interregional Market Operations Department and Market Services Division by operating or supporting all market activities associated with interregional market coordination.
Because of COVID-19 this position will be temporarily working from home until a return to campus plan is finalized.
Essential Functions:
The (Sr.) Engineer responsibilities will include the following, commensurate with the experience of the candidate:
Complete the complex engineering assignments that support present and future needs of Interregional Market Operations.
Support the Market Interregional Market Operations group in developing and maintaining all tools that are used for economic transmission planning (specifically focused on activities in PJM's seams).
Perform power flow analysis as required to support the Interregional Market Operations group.
Prepare reports and presentations to support the activities of the Interregional Market Operations group.
Work with members of the Market Services Division to solve engineering problems.
Represent PJM on industry committees, task forces, or stakeholder groups involving issues related to the PJM markets.
Characteristics and Qualifications:
Required:
BS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience
0-5 years of experience using an electric market simulation software tool such as PROMOD, GridView, or MAPs. Experience using PSS/e (or similar) and/or PTI MUST software.
- Ability to produce high-quality work products with attention to detail
- Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Ability to use mathematical and electrical theory
- Ability to troubleshoot and provide technical support
Preferred:
Experience with PJM operations, markets, and planning functions
Experience using PSS/e (power system analysis program)
