Patient Scheduling Coordinator (Healthcare)
Nystrom & Associatesis a team of mental health professionals that specialize in psychiatric evaluations, clinical social work, and family therapy. We are committed to helping patients in our community who are experiencing personal, emotional, marriage, family or psychological problems. Founded in 1991, we offer an intensive outpatient substance use disorder program, psychological testing, and behavioral health and medication management services.
The Patient Scheduling Coordinator plays an important role in scheduling established patients for follow up appointments via phone and responding to inquiries. This position acts as the first point of contact for patients by providing information on services.
Hours:
Monday - Friday: 9:00AM- 5:30PM
Job Duties:
Ensures a positive first impression for patients and referents by guiding them through the scheduling process with professionalism and empathyExclusively conducts all patient interactions through incoming and outgoing phone calls in a prompt and courteous manner, providing accurate information or triaging as appropriateHandles patient inquiries by providing basic education on services, and scheduling appointmentsHandle patient concerns and crises with empathy and patience and collaborate with site leadership to resolve as neededCollaborate with clinical staff regarding patient care issues and schedulingMaintain awareness in trends, patterns, and needs for new servicesAttend mandatory meetings and trainingsOther duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Highschool diploma or equivalentExperience working in health care facilities and an interest in behavioral health is strongly preferredAbility to prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environmentStrong attention to detailPositive attitudeProficiency in technology and computer use including Microsoft Office SuiteStrong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbalAbility to manage stress while navigating difficult situations and escalated patient interactionsKeep all business information strictly confidentialCommitment to position for minimum of 1 year
