Job Summary: Work with product release engineers to conduct detailed fastener joint design reviews, in order to provide recommendations relative to fastener selection and fastener best practice implementation; Oversee testing in the fastener lab with bargaining unit personnel; Help to develop fastener best practices; Respond to plant production issues as needed; Act as main point of contact for product teams in your functional area.
Job Description
The Fastener Engineer will be responsible for fastener selection/best practice implementation for all fastener applications on a given engine program and act as primary lead for fastener development including data collection for torque/clamp studies, torque spec development, and maintain prototype level, torque specification sheets for various engine programs.
Additionally, the Fastener Engineer will lead RCA, design improvement activities, support SQA to resolve quality issues, support AME/Plant(s) on fastener related manufacturing issues, bench-marking of competitive engines and participate in post-test inspection reviews.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering degree
2+ years of experience in an automotive production design development & release environment.
