Summary:

The Credit Assistant performs administrative support duties for the credit division.

What you'll be contributing:

  • Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
  • Makes cash application batch entries in HighRadius, Oracle/JD Edwards EnterpriseOne software.
  • Prepares miscellaneous deposits.
  • Resolves open customer deductions timely via communications with the customer, the Traffic department, and/or supervisor.
  • Assists with the monthly close process for accounts receivable to the general ledger, including entering batched journal vouchers and processing invoices and statements.
  • Assists in complex customer account reconciliations.
  • Responds to customer requests for documents and handles credit reference requests.
  • Works closely with Credit Department personnel performing tasks as assigned.
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

To succeed in this position, you will need:

  • Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
  • Minimum 2 Year - Associate Degree in accounting, business, or related fields. JDE experience is a plus.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in accounts receivables and general office position in an automated systems environment.
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to analyze facts and to exercise sound judgment in arriving at a conclusion
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office365 and computer applications
  • Skills in customer service
  • Ability to present a friendly and service-oriented attitude
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles. General knowledge of office procedures and practices and ten key-by-touch skills
  • Ability to operate a computer
  • Ability to maintain confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to work under general supervision following standard guidelines, practices, and procedures
  • Ability to refer questionable items to supervisor for guidance
