Logistics Associate - Warehouse Focus (Biotech)

Grow your career with a world leader in pharmaceutical manufacturing!

Today, Lonza is a global leader in life sciences operating across five continents. While we work in science, there's no magic formula to how we do it. Our greatest scientific solution is dedicated people working together, devising ideas that help businesses to help people. In exchange, we let our people own their careers. Their ideas, big and small, genuinely improve the world. And that's the kind of work we want to be part of!

This position is based onsite at our Portsmouth site for a Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm work schedule. This position reports to our Project Albacore Logistics team.

The Logistics Associate 3 role provides hands-on support to the daily operations of the Logistics Department, including Receiving, Shipping, Warehouse functions, and Kitting. You'll start in one area but will be required to cross-train across all logistics functions over time to support a flexible and well-rounded team. This Logistics Associate Role will directly support a busy GMP manufacturing facility by ensuring timely, compliant material flow and inventory accuracy to keep production running smoothly.

Key responsibilities include using the SAP system to perform transactions such as goods receipt, stock overview, stock putaway, material movement and kitting. We're looking for someone meticulous, open to learning, and comfortable working in a dynamic, team-first, fast paced environment. The individual will need to be comfortable assisting with the development of new colleagues as we continue to build our team.

What you will do:

  • Serve as a warehouse-focused team member responsible for inventory handling, material movements, and GMP-compliant storage operations.

  • Learn and support daily process flows specific to the warehouse, including staging, put away, inventory accuracy, and documentation review.

  • Attain a basic working knowledge of SAP functions tied to warehouse responsibilities, including, but not limited to:

    • Goods Receipt

    • Stock Overview

    • Stock Put-away

    • Material Movements

    • Inventory Transactions and Adjustments

  • Accurately complete SAP transactions with RF scan (barcode) guns to streamline workflows and reduce transactional errors.

  • Collaborate within cross-functional teams to be fully trained across Receiving, Shipping, and Kitting workflows, promoting operational flexibility and business continuity.

  • Complete required EHS training and certifications and actively uphold safety protocols across all warehouse tasks. Operate Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks and motorized equipment with active certifications and daily safety checks.

  • Demonstrate ability to work safely and efficiently in cold storage or temperature-controlled environments, with appropriate PPE and awareness of product integrity requirements.

  • Exhibit the ability to quickly learn and navigate Quality Management Systems (QMS) such as TrackWise, DMS, accurately complete entries in Logbooks, execution of PMOPs and input Work Orders as needed.

  • Perform additional duties with a quality-oriented outlook and commitment to GMP standards, as assigned – ensure audit readiness at all times.

What you will bring:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Identify and resolve operational or inventory-related issues without direct supervision by applying critical thinking and situational awareness.

  • Ability to handle complex or varied tasks while also directing and organizing mini projects or daily warehouse operations efficiently.

  • Regularly assess logistics workflows (ie. staging, put-away, kitting, shipping & receiving) and suggest changes to enhance productivity, reduce errors and support audit readiness.

  • Strong grasp of SAP functions and RF scanning tools to maintain inventory precision and support timely material movements.

  • Skilled at managing multiple priorities, adapting to sudden demand or crisis scenarios while maintaining compliance and performance.

  • Deep understanding preferred of SOPs and warehouse standards including GMP, EHS prorocols and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
