Youth Sports Official/Youth Sports/Downtown Belleville/Part Time (Finance)
Monitor team sports at the YMCA or off-site locations.
Teach the knowledge of the game to youth and adults.
Assume responsibility for interpreting the rules, policies and traditions of the game to the sport participants
Be a team player that can relate positively to all staff, volunteers and participants
Be able to observe participant and fan behavior and respond verbally to health and safety concerns and to deal appropriately with any improper behavior.
Organize and manage sport set up, clean up and participate in activities necessary to deliver a quality sports experience.
Adjust and operate all sports equipment as applicable including but not limited to baskets, goals, scoreboards, sound systems and any other operation that will contribute to the success of the sports game and league.
Contributes to a superior work culture through participation in training and staff meetings to develop leadership, management and technical skills related to sports.
Stay current with applicable sport rules and regulations.
Show enthusiasm about officiating and teaching the knowledge of the game.
Must be able to move into correct position to see plays on the playing field or court.
Perform all other duties assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 16 years old for youth, and 18 for adult sports.
Minimum 1 year of experience working with school age children preferred.
High School or College level knowledge of sports experience preferred
Non-Certified
Entry level, no certifications required
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Physical Mobility: walking, climbing, stairs, standing, kneeling, bending, leaning, stooping and sitting for extended periods of time.
Physical Dexterity: ability to use telephone, computer, electronic equipment, exercise equipment, office equipment (fax, copier, stapler, etc.), tools and machinery as needed.
Lifting: ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Sensory Requirements: ability to hear, listen, speak, smell, touch, taste, see and distinguish colors.
Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency
