Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and execution-focused Vice President of Operations to lead manufacturing, assembly, and distribution activities across multiple sites in Wisconsin. This executive leader will be responsible for driving operational excellence in a complex manufacturing environment characterized by a mix of build-to-stock (BTS), configured-to-order (CTO), and custom engineered-to-order (ETO) product strategies.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience leading machining, assembly, and distribution operations, with a proven track record of leveraging lean principles in highly complex, mixed-model environments with a long SKU tail. A key responsibility will be to optimize and evolve the current Oracle ERP platform to support efficient operations, scalable product configuration, and precision across the product lifecycle.

This role will also contribute to global strategic initiatives, driving standardization, quality, and continuous improvement while maintaining responsiveness to customer-specific requirements.

Location: Columbus, Wisconsin (Multi-Site Leadership - Wisconsin Region)

Reports To: EVP of Operations
Key Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership for all operational functions across multiple Wisconsin-based facilities, ensuring alignment with company goals on quality, delivery, cost, and safety.
  • Lead machining, assembly, and distribution operations, ensuring productivity and efficiency while maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee end-to-end production and supply chain execution for a broad SKU portfolio, balancing high-volume, repetitive manufacturing with low-volume, high-mix customization.
  • Drive optimization of the Oracle ERP system, enhancing configurability, traceability, scheduling, and real-time data access for decision-making across functions.
  • Implement and mature lean manufacturing principles, with a strong focus on reducing waste, improving flow, and increasing throughput in a high-mix, low-volume environment.
  • Establish performance metrics and KPIs for all key operational areas and drive continuous improvement using structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Lead initiatives to improve inventory accuracy, material flow, and warehouse optimization, ensuring seamless integration between production and distribution.
  • Champion a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence, mentoring teams and building organizational capability.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Sales, Quality, and Finance to align production operations with product lifecycle needs and market demands.
  • Contribute to and support global operational strategies, including best practice sharing, process standardization, and platform development across regions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field; Master's degree (MBA or related) preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a senior multi-site leadership role.

Desired:
  • Deep experience in machining, complex assembly, and distribution/logistics operations or industrial manufacturing setting.
  • Demonstrated success in mixed-mode manufacturing environments, balancing BTS, CTO, and ETO product strategies.
  • Proven success managing large SKU portfolios with complex demand variability and long-tail products.
  • Expertise in Oracle ERP systems with a demonstrated ability to lead ERP optimization and/or reconfiguration projects to support operations.
  • Strong experience implementing and sustaining lean manufacturing and continuous improvement frameworks (e.g., Kaizen, Six Sigma).
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and change management skills with the ability to build high-performing teams and lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience in supporting or leading global operational strategies and transformations is a significant plus.
