Welder II (Sales)
Operates fabrication shop machinery and equipment including, but not limited to welding machines, cutting torches, grinders, overhead cranes, and forklifts. Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
Removes all welding slag, burrs, sharp edges, rust or scale from workpiece.
Performs minor machine maintenance such as cleaning and changing consumable parts.
Identify and set welding machine parameters for different circumstances
Performs complete joint penetration welds when required, including joint preparation
Performs related duties as assigned by supervision.
Competencies
Pass Timber Automation Welder II certification: multi-pass, vertical up (3G position), groove weld with a cross section subjected to a bend test.
Follow all shop safety policies and practices.
Weld in all positions (flat, vertical, and overhead) with a consistent weld bead size
Ability to read a tape measure, weld symbols, and weld fillet gauge
Work well in a team environment.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to welding fumes and airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud and does require hearing protection.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items over 50 pounds with a weight limit of 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Thursday, 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for day-shift and 4:30 p.m. to 2:30am for night shift, 40 hours per week. Overtime hours as needed. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

No travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED diploma
Over 1 year of welding experience, or trade schooling
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
Fabrication and/or welding certificate received from trade school.
Over 1 year of work experience in fabrication shop.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
This position requires a preemployment background and drug test.
