Financial Analyst (Fiscal Policy and Budget) - R&S (Finance)
The Fiscal Analysis section analyzes the economic effects of fiscal policy and forecasts developments in the federal, state, and local government sectors. Section members provide analysis for the Board of Governors and senior staff on issues related to fiscal policy and government spending, such as tax and transfer policies, government debt, government employment, and state and local government finance.
A key responsibility of the section is to forecast the major categories of the federal budget and assess the broader economic implications of the budget. The primary responsibilities of the analyst entail creating a model to forecast federal budget outlays and receipts, maintaining the related databases and forecasting code, and constructing forecasting diagnostics in order to track developments using real-time budget data.
