Research Associate (Finance)



The non-tenure track Research Associate position in the Aging and Cardiovascular Disease Laboratory, with a specialized focus on Heart failure, muscle injury-based research. Assist the PI and support research aimed at identifying and characterizing novel small molecules for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, including heart failure, myocardial infarction, and aging.
\nMinimum Qualifications:

Master's degree from an accredited institution with demonstrated record of academic research achievement, or professional qualifications in the field of specialization above those which would be equivalent to the highest degree. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Research Associate.

Additional Minimum Qualifications:

PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Physiology, Pharmacology, Cardiovascular Biology, Animal Sciences or equivalent in a related discipline.

Minimum of 5 years of research experience in cardiovascular research.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong record of publications and research track-record.

Experience with Echocardiography, ECG, Langendorff, Molecular studies, transgenic mouse models, cellular assay development, compound screening, and mechanistic studies.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Commitment to fostering advanced translational research environment.

Aging based cardiovascular changes and use of pharmacotherapeutic strategies to mitigate adverse remodeling during aging.

Design and execute medium and high-throughput screening assays to identify compounds, using biochemical, cellular, and animal models. Utilize Myocardial infarction and permanent ligation model to evaluate heart failure in preclinical setting and evaluate therapeutic strategies.

Use of ex vivo, in vitro and in vivo strategies and models to develop, refine and execute the experimental strategies, collect data for research projects and assist PI in the research laboratory with advanced understanding.

Communicate with PI and medicinal chemists, pharmacologists, and to optimize and validate the assays and activity.

Assist PI in preparing portions or draft of papers, manuscripts, for publication of research findings in high-impact journals. Organize data, plot data utilizing GraphPad, excel sheets, Adobe and other software for visualization and presentation purposes.

Assist PI in training undergraduate and MSPN students for laboratory techniques and assays.

Participate in weekly and monthly meetings
