Salvage Counsel (Legal)

Salvage Counsel
Responsible for maximizing recovery of policy losses incurred by the Company in the claims resolution process.
This includes:
- Monitoring open and closed claim files for recovery opportunities
- Communicating demands for payment to responsible parties
- Determining appropriate instances in which to file suit and supervising the development and settlement of litigation
- Reviewing bankruptcy filings and notices of foreclosure, ascertaining, and acting to protect interest of the Company
- Working with other Company employees to coordinate recovery opportunities and information flow
- Ability to learn and use various technology programs and data systems
- Possesses business acumen, strong work ethic, and excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrates self-management, self-motivation, and ability to work unsupervised
- Able to organize and prioritize time efficiently
- Able to comprehend complex real estate and insurance issues
Requirements:
- Completion of a Juris Doctorate graduate degree from an ABA accredited law school
- Admission to practice law and possession of a license in good standing
- Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing law some in-house experience preferred
- Background in title insurance, real estate, subrogation, collections, and/or creditor's rights law
- Understanding of the FDCPA and CFPB
