Donor Screening Coordinator (Healthcare)
Coordinates all activities related to donor referral telephone calls including evaluating donor potential and suitability, obtaining authorization for donor, and coordinating notification of recovery staff as appropriate. Inputs data in the computerized data tracking system. Responsible for the management of incoming calls. Assists in building security by managing entry and access to building. Coordinates activities with funeral home directors, medical examiners, and coroners.
Education Requirements:
High school diploma required.
Associates degree of higher preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must have medical terminology, and medical record review.
Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills required, including communicating with diverse individuals.
Ability to show compassion and provide guidance to grieving individuals.
Must be adaptable and flexible to change with the ability to think critically in solving problems with a continuous focus on customer service.
Experience screening telephone calls required..
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and data entry required.
Must be detail oriented, and have the ability to remain accurate while under pressure.
Must be highly organized and analytical with the ability to think logically, manage time effectively, prioritize and multi-task.
Must be able to remain professional in making decisions and handling confidential information.
Must have patience and maintain focus through interruptions and maintain emotional control under stress.
Experience working in a collaborative team environment strongly preferred.
Must be reliable and self-motivated.
