We are hiring! Atkins is seeking a Senior Architectural Historian OR Senior Archaeologist to join our Cultural Resources team in Tampa, Florida.
The ideal candidate for this position will apply their Cultural Resources knowledge and experience toward the assessment of transportation, planning, and infrastructure projects, and will supervise a team of Architectural Historians and Archaeologists.

How will you contribute to the team?
Reporting to the National Director of Cultural Resources, the selected candidate will:
Supervise a team of 5-6 Architectural Historians and Archaeologists who are responsible for Cultural Resources work production in accordance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and other relevant federal and state laws.
Provide leadership, direction, and technical guidance to ensure delivery of high-quality Cultural Resources services to clients, while maintaining project schedules and budgets.
Manage Cultural Resources project production and task financial management, including preparation of scope and fee documents, to ensure client satisfaction and profitability of projects.
Serve as Lead Architectural Historian OR Archaeological Principal Investigator on large/complex projects, including: planning and leading field surveys; writing reports; assessing effects to cultural resources; conducting mitigation for adversely affected resources; and conducting quality reviews of team members' work.
Must be prepared to spend time in the field and travel to project sites, with some overnight visits required. Projects will generally be in Florida but could be elsewhere in the Southeast, as needed.
What will you contribute?
At minimum, must meet the Secretary of the Interior's Professional Qualification Standards for History, Architectural History, or Archaeology, including a graduate degree in History, Architectural History, Historic Preservation, Archaeology, Anthropology, or a closely related field. Senior Archaeologists only: ability to serve as Principal Investigator.
10-12 years of professional Architectural History or Archaeology experience, with demonstrated ability to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders and carry projects to completion. Senior Architectural Historians: Experience conducting field surveys with identification and evaluation of historic resources, background research, and effects assessments. Senior Archaeologists: Experience conducting field surveys with identification and evaluation of historic and/or precontact period sites.
Knowledge of, and practical experience with, Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, including agency coordination.
Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple complex projects while meeting all project schedule dates.
Excellent written, technical, and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail is a must.
Basic level of experience with ArcGIS is required; intermediate to advanced experience is a plus.
General understanding of the following industries: infrastructure, transportation, state and local governments, and/or regulatory/compliance.
Prior Cultural Resources supervisory experience and prior Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) project experience and prequalification is highly desired.
Position may require use of company vehicle. The selected candidate must have valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company policy.
