Maintains Columbia Helicopter's Wastewater Treatment Plant, drain fields, and associated pump station(s) in compliance with regulatory agency requirements.
Collects samples and identifies concentrations of chemical, physical or biological characteristics of wastewater required in accordance with local, state, and federal requirements.
Gathers and tests wastewater samples for optimal plant operational efficiency.
Monitors the performance of all equipment, gauges, pumps, and valves, etc.
Performs all operational maintenance and repairs on applicable wastewater treatment systems, including associated pump stations, in compliance with regulatory guidance and safe work practices.
Uses computerized control systems to monitor and control plant processes, equipment, and instrument activities for the treatment plant operations.
Charts lab test results for trend analysis and maintains accurate records of analyses and test results. Evaluates data and writes reports as required.
Troubleshoots and responds to alarms and potential issues; evaluates situations to make initial assessment of potential problems and decides on the appropriate problem-solving solution.
Prepares and submits annual discharge summary report and Monthly DMRs for review, prior to submission to Oregon Department of Environmental Quality.
Develops and evaluates current operating procedures and maintenance activities; initiate and recommend new and improved practices.
Contains and facilitates disposal of hazardous wastes generated by the Plant.
Calibrates, modifies or repairs instrumentation and control equipment including recorders, flowmeter, and other monitoring equipment.
Works with vendors to facilitate preventative maintenance schedule for control equipment and calibrated gauges.
Operates and maintains sewage pump stations, drain fields, cleans wet wells, and operates pumps and valves to control and adjust flow and treatment process.
Assists with a variety of other Safety efforts (approximately 30% of position).
Works under the direct and indirect supervision of the HSE Supervisor.
Provides excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED
Licenses and Certificates:
Possess or the ability to obtain a valid Oregon driver's license within the first 30 days of employment.
Possess a grade III Wastewater System Operator Certificate.
At least two years of industrial maintenance experience, including the safe troubleshooting and diagnosis of basic electrical and mechanical systems. Experience performing operator maintenance on wastewater treatment systems preferred.
Basic understanding of Environmental Safety.
May require the ability to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to seek out work, recommend projects, and work independently.
Ability to interpret and apply technical reports and regulatory rules.
Ability to perform process control calculations.
Ability to handle critical emergency situations calmly, efficiently, and professionally.
