Marketing Communications Specialist (Finance)

Purpose
The Marking Communication Specialist will work alongside the Chief Marketing Officer, assisting with the creation, execution, and ongoing management of YWCA's marketing, communications, public relations, and social media plans.
Formal Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, English, Communications, or a related field.Two to four years of professional experience, including internships, in online marketing, web design, and social media preferred.
Job Duties
Social Media & Online Community Management
Write copy for social media posts, websites, blogs, and other online copy.Drive and implement ongoing social media initiatives for YWCA programs and brand.Maintain and grow YWCA's social media presence in a manner that engages the current community, and bring in new audiences.Convene a working group of YWCA staff to brainstorm social media content.Create, schedule, and publish content for all social media channels. Work with Chief Marketing Officer on the content calendar.Identify and implement new ways to engage online with community partners to expand YWCA's reach and brand awareness, including utilizing media and community partners.Assist with reputation management by monitoring online feedback through social listening and identifying opportunities and threats in social media and digital space. Determine if a response is necessary and respond appropriately if needed.Recommend advertising campaigns through social media platforms, monitor and track results as needed, and tweak campaigns through tools such as Google and Facebook analytics.Maintain and manage online listings and review sites such as Yelp, Google Business, etc., and leverage user feedback on these sites to advance the mission of YWCA.Seek out and implement new online marketing trends.Provide benchmarks and analyze data from social media initiatives to make recommendations on future communication planning and other decision-making.Optimize digital communications for search engines and maximize performance on targeted social platforms.Oversee keyword research to drive content creation and online advertising.
Communications & Content Creation
Write copy for marketing collateral and internal and external email communications.Create content for ywcastl.org, updating to promote events and initiatives online and for search engine optimization.Maintain online properties: copywriting, editing, and managing online content.Partner with Chief Marketing Officer to develop and refine internal and external email marketing campaigns to support development, inspire new support, and update the community about YWCA initiatives and program participation.
Public Relations
Help drive efforts and design initiatives to earn traditional and social media coverage.Create, proofread, and disseminate press releases to traditional media outlets, as well as online.Monitor partner sites for sharable content.Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent written communication and proofreading skills required.Passion for social and racial justice is a must.Skilled and up to date knowledge of social media trends, platforms, and best practices.Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and maintain quality is required.Experience working in Canava or Adobe Creative Suite is plus but not required.Ability to work independently, as well as in teams, is required.Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, Google Docs, etc., is required.Working knowledge in WordPress, and expert knowledge of social media platforms and analytics is preferred.Knowledge of basic public relations principals and practices is preferred.Experience working with email marketing software and campaign management preferred.
