Activities Director (Personal Services)



English Meadows Senior Living is a locally owned company providing excellent care to our wonderful Residents. We are looking for a positive, compassionate Activity Director to help coordinate events and engaging activities for our Residents to enrich their stay in our community. The Activity Director will plan creative and meaningful group and one on one activities for the community daily.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Adheres to and conveys the philosophy of Assisted Living
* Has awareness and practices in accordance with the regulations of the state.
* Prepares and distributes the Communities monthly newsletter
* Prepares and distributes the Communities monthly activity schedule and calendar.
* Plans, develops, and coordinates the communities volunteer program.
* Maintains appropriate records of resident participation in activities.
* Consults and works closely with other departments to develop Activity Programs and events to maximize the level of functioning for community residents.
* Coordinate Activities and programs that are sponsored by the outside community and/ or vendors.
* Plans, develops, organizes and implements an appropriate activity program as it relates to the physical, social, cognitive, community, creative and spiritual/ emotional needs of individual residents.
* Practices good infection control and universal precautions
* Keeps community Administrator informed of all departmental needs daily.
* Order and keep sufficient supplies on hand to perform duties and assures that budget goals are met.
* Ensures Activity areas are well maintained and supplies are organized.
* Assist with orientation of new residents.
* Assist with orientation and marketing duties as needed.
* Performs shopping, mailing and other tasks as deemed necessary for Community residents.
* Keep Administrator informed of all departmental needs and issues.
* Observes and communicates any changes in resident physical or mental condition to the Nursing Supervisor.
* Assists with training of new team members.
* Avoids loss, breakage and waste of supplies and equipment. Maintains a neat and orderly activity department.
* Wears name tag at all times.
* Has a working walkie on them during their shift.
* Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for residents, team members and visitors.
* Responsible for responding to door alarms as needed.
* Knows and follows Emergency Procedures, Elopement and all other procedures.
* Performs all other duties assigned by Administrator
* Must attend and/or complete all assigned training to meet DSS regulations
* Responsible for keeping resident information confidential; respecting resident rights; respecting privacy.
