GRANT WRITER (Finance)
Essential Duties:
Communicate with program managers and other staff to determine a good match between existing program activities, future planned activities, and Request for Proposal Requirements (RFP). Collaborate with program managers to develop and update program logic models, activities, objectives, and outcomes that are attainable and competitive.
Research and identify funding opportunities available from national, state, local and private sources. These include federal, government, foundation, and corporate giving opportunities.
Work with program managers, grant accountants, and other partners to develop successful grant proposals that focus on the needs of programs and meet funder guidelines and giving priorities. Establish goals, objectives, and outcomes for each program and/or project.
Track outcomes on grant requests and report to SDC Board of Commissioners and the Social Development Foundation on grant awards.
Maintain broad subject area knowledge through scholarly research which includes examination of internet, professional and academic publications, news digests, and statistical assessments.
Manage multiple grant writing timelines that include activities related to program funding cycles, such as deadlines related to seasonal activities within programs, grant release dates and deadline submissions, and the activity cycles of the planning department and the agency.
Build and manage external partnerships with community agencies, educational institutions, government units, financial institutions, local corporations, and faith-based organizations that share a commitment to serving low-income and at-risk populations. Grant Writer will work with community partners and program managers to secure support and negotiate collaborations.
Support SDC activities and events including (but not limited to) an annual poverty summit, open houses, and program activities.
