Banquet Captain & Administrative Assistant (Finance)

Essential Job Responsibilities:
Execute events from start to finish when necessary and with support from Catering Operations Manager.Lead a Banquet Team and communicate with clients in a productive, professional, and personable fashion.Gather critical event details and communicate all catering-related events via event management program (Ivvy). In conjunction with the Catering Manager, the Banquet Captain/Administrative Assistant is responsible for inputting event details to create an informative and complete BEO.Assist Catering Operations Manager with staff training.Responsible for creation of all event welcome, event menu, and directional signage.Assume responsibility for office cleanliness and administrative-related equipment. May also be involved in inventory, storage and cataloging banquet equipment and supplies.Conducts oneself with safety in mind and undertakes all job requirements in a manner that will guarantee a safe environment for oneself, guests, and fellow team members.Maintain strong knowledge of all aspects of all food and beverage positions in order to be able to jump in and provide support as needed during low-volume event times.Observe staff interactions with guests; make note to all managers to coach, train and correct staff as needed.Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.Reliable attendance on all scheduled workdays.Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Knowledge:
Must already have or be willing to complete the New Mexico Food Handlers Certification upon hire.Must already have or be willing to complete the New Mexico Alcohol Server Certification upon hire.1 year of catering experience and administrative experience preferred.Excellent computer skills; efficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other software. Must be willing to ask for help and/or clarification.Fluent in verbal and written English, other language skills preferredAbility to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
Work Environment:
Taos Ski Valley, Inc. is often a fast-paced work environment, especially during Holiday and Peak days. TSVI is located in a high-altitude alpine environment. Position may require travel on uneven, snow-packed, or icy terrain and may be exposed to wet, cold, and/or humid conditions. Must be able to work in close quarters and with other staff.
Physical Demands of Position Include:
Will often lift 25 pounds, and occasionally team lift 50+ pounds.
