Summary
Responsible for managing the Mutual Funds and DV team, a part of the global Trade and Settlements group. The role is balanced between high level operational execution and development of strategic direction. Responsibilities include assessing operational risk and managing process changes to mitigate these risks, conducting performance management and career development processes, identifying training and development needs, ensuring resources are available to accomplish priorities and managing staffing and disciplinary actions.
Participates in developing division strategic plan and sets goals and priorities based on the direction set for the unit; follows through to ensure that objectives are met. Develops unit(s) budget and manages the expenses for the division/ unit. Provides leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment that encourages employee participation, teamwork, and communication.
Major Duties
•Responsible for assessing Operational Risk and implement process changes to mitigate
•Role is balanced between high level operational execution and development of strategic direction
•Ensures Operational excellence in all areas of Processing
•Support more junior level managers to facilitate seamless implementation of departmental infrastructure changes
•Carrying out complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines across the organization
•Displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity
•Conducts performance management and career development processes, provides input for staffing and disciplinary actions and provides hands-on training to staff
•Develops periodic goals, organizes the work, sets short-term priorities, monitors all activities, and ensures timely and accurate completion of the work
•Makes staffing decisions, and ensures resources are available to accomplish priorities
•Develops unit(s) budget and manages the expenses for the division/ unit.
Knowledge/Skills
Seasoned multi-disciplinary expert with extensive technical and business / industry knowledge and functional expertise.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
