Watercraft Decontaminator Position
This is a paid temporary position screening and decontaminating watercraft at Lake Berryessa. Staff conduct boat screenings, biological inspections and watercraft decontaminations for invasive species (including but not limited to golden, quagga, and zebra mussels), provide water quality and invasive species education to Lake Berryessa users. This position interacts directly with members of the public through oral communication in an outdoor setting on a daily basis (Typically 50-100 people per day). This position requires commuting from the Vacaville, CA office to various assigned destinations in Napa, CA along Lake Berryessa.
This position will work approximately 16-30 hours per week, primarily on the weekends. This position will not exceed 1,000 hours in a fiscal year (July-June). Required hours are primarily Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from approximately 7:00AM to 5:00PM as well as additionally scheduled weekday shifts, meetings, and training.
On-the-job training is provided for this position.
Employment Duration: July 1, 2025 - December 31, 2025.
(Position duration may be extended or adjusted for some individuals dependent on Water Agency needs)
Staff are expected to work holidays and holiday weekends (including but not limited to Forth of July, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, Presidents Day, Mothers Day, Fathers Day, and Memorial Day), and additional weekends/weekdays as instructed.
