Job Description:

Looking to grow your HR experience? Are you passionate about helping others? Join our HR team as our new HR Assistant! This position will support our partners and our leaders, recruit and onboard our new hires to ensure a great work experience.

Shift hours required: Early mornings or late afternoons required, occasionally weekends as needed. These are due to supporting our 24/7 plant for HR coverage. Two days per week will be working late afternoons.

Essential Functions:

  • Support the full-cycle recruitment process, including posting jobs, reviewing applications, screening candidates, and scheduling interviews
  • Maintain regular communication with candidates, hiring managers, and external recruiters to ensure a smooth hiring process
  • Track and update applicant statuses in the tracker and generate recruitment-related reports
  • Assist with job fairs, community outreach efforts, and hiring events to attract qualified applicants
  • Prepare letters, new hire paperwork, and onboarding documentation
  • Coordinate and facilitate new hire orientations and pre-employment processes (background checks, drug screens, etc.)
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date recruitment files and documentation for compliance and audit readiness
  • Support the HR team in identifying trends or challenges in hiring and suggesting solutions to improve processes
  • Ensure job postings are updated and aligned with job descriptions and market needs
  • Assist with internal job bid process and tracking
  • Maintain and update personnel files, ensuring compliance with company policy and audit standards
  • Assist in maintaining HRIS systems with accurate employee information (e.g., new hires, job changes, terminations)
  • Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and presentations related to recruiting, turnover, and HR metrics
  • Respond to basic employee inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and procedures
  • Support HR team with routine tasks including filing, data entry, meeting scheduling, and compliance audits
  • Help coordinate HR projects, training sessions, and engagement activities as needed
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by leadership 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in human resources or related field preferred
  • Preferred 2 years of experience in HR or recruitment support
  • Experience working with ATS and/or HRIS systems (Workday experience preferred)
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred based on workforce needs
