General Maintenance Worker (Finance)
Pensacola Bay Support Services, a Joint Venture of IAP Worldwide Services and EMCOR Government Services, has been awarded the Pensacola Base Operations Support Contract.
Job Position: Mechanic, Motor Vehicle
Location: NAS Pensacola and surrounding bases, including Corry Station and Saufley Field
Reports to: Supervisor, Mobile Support
General: This position requires performing work involving skills to keep the structure of an establishment in repair. Craftsman may work as an independent member of a team.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience: A minimum of five years experience relevant to the job description and working conditions below, performing work involving three or more of the following: HVAC, Plumbing, Carpentry, Masonry, or Structural Trades required.
Education Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent.
Licenses and Certifications Requirements: Valid Florida driver's license or equivalent required. A physical exam and respirator fit test may be required (company will arrange).
Immunization Requirements: (When assigned to Hospital) Evidence or records for the following: an annual PPD or TB evaluation (usually a chest x-ray and questionnaire for those who are PPD converters for the initial evaluation), an MMR if born after 1956, a Varicella (Chicken Pox) history/tier or two shot series, and a Hepititis B series. If no evidence or records are available, then these requirements will be company provided.
Job Description:
Physical Effort: Craftsmen often lift, carry, and handle materials, tools and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds for at least 30 feet and extended periods. They occasionally work in cramped and inconvenient surroundings requiring manipulation of equipment in awkward positions for prolonged periods. Work frequently requires standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions for extended periods. Must be able to ascend and descend on ladders of various heights. Make repairs and installations from ladders, scaffolding or platforms where parts of systems worked on are frequently in hardâ€'toâ€'reach places.
Working Conditions: The work is accomplished both indoors and outdoors, all climates, including working outside and on top of tall buildings, often exposed to hot sun for extended periods of time. Frequently works in cramped spaces, hot/cold attic spaces, areas with low overheads, and areas with hot/cold, oily, wet, and dusty surfaces. The craftsman may be exposed to moving parts and equipment, or machinery while working in and around electrical equipment and of machinery units. May be called in for off-hours emergency situations including weekends and holidays. On-Call Duty rotation may be required, with company cell phone provided when in a duty status. Limited work required in asbestos containing areas, with company training and protective equipment provided. When notified by the SCADA Desk operator or Supervisor, the employee must arrive at the work site no later than 1 hour after being notified.
