Role description:
As a design manager you will be responsible for the overall delivery on major complex capex projects with primary focus on excellence in architectural and engineering design throughout North America. This position has flexible working options including part time hours and you will join a collaborative team that truly values its people.
Role accountabilities:
Overseeing multi-disciplinary design coordination and providing technical leadership to project teams
Coordinating with internal and external architects, engineers, designers, and managers to align strategic objectives and progress
Acting as primary client point of contact for project execution, planning and leading formal and informal touchpoints
Leading client meetings, responding to enquiries, and collaborating across all stages of the project lifecycle
Spearheading strategic pursuits, creating winning delivery strategies, fee projections to achieve financial targets of the business, and creating the most advantageous delivery approach
Taking responsibility for financial and project management controls which enable monitoring, modification and forecasting as appropriate
Managing the acquisition, deployment, and optimization of resources for the project
Driving timely service delivery including technical and commercial outcomes and undertaking reviews, ensuring delivery is above client expectation
Key Skills & Attributes:
Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary design teams for capex projects within a design and engineering consultancy environment
Ability to effectively implement design delivery best practice including risk and change management, project set-up and planning
Well-developed technical and commercial skills, with a sound knowledge of design and its relationship with all phases of the project life cycle
Established stakeholder management capability with a focus on building credible, collaborative but influential relationships both internally and externally
Required Qualifications
Registered Professional Engineer, PE or Architect, RA or AIA
BA in Architecture or Engineer
7 or more years of relevant experience
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Working knowledge and experience with AutoDesk Products (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.), REVIT, and Bentley (MicroStation, etc.) software products, BIM 360.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated Minimum 8 years' experience as a Project Manager for Department of Defense projects.
Demonstrated experience on Military Construction (MILCON) projects.
Working knowledge and demonstrated experience working with Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS) Specs Intact, ProjNet (DRChecks), UFC's
